The World
A world built out of Frames.
Every place in Frame World is a Frame or a wall of Frames: pictures of possible days, hung side by side, painting a future that keeps changing. To walk through it is to walk through a designed life.
It is not a fantasy land that distracts from the idea. It is the idea, made of clay.
The Species
The Framelings.
A Frameling is a Frame that has come to life: a friendly face inside the frame, clay legs underneath, and one possibility carried around all day. Each one in our series carries a very human way of struggling with the day. You have probably been at least three of them.
The Reason
Why Frame World?
The challenges of productivity, and the shift to Life Design, could have stayed an essay. We wrote the essays too; they are the article series. But we kept noticing the same thing: people remember Barry buried under his lists far longer than any statistic about task apps.
An argument is something you read once. A character is someone you follow. The Framelings let the ideas be felt instead of just read: warm, human, and a little funny, which is exactly how the problem shows up in real days.
There is a second reason. The app itself stays behind the curtain until later this year, so the story had to be worth following on its own. Frame World lets us share what we believe, and have some fun, before we show what we built.

On the accumulation of task debt
List-based task management systems exhibit unbounded accumulation: items are appended faster than they are resolved, and each unresolved item continues to occupy working memory. The resulting backlog produces the sensation of perpetual motion without progress.
The Star
Meet Framesy.
The very first Frameling, our mascot, and the face of the whole world. The calm one who never seems stressed, and that isn’t an accident.
While the rest of the cast lives inside the problem, Framesy stands just outside it. He hands you something small and useful, then steps back. Stick around; he shows up right when a story needs him.

How It Began
Born from the logo.
Framesy’s head is not just any frame. It is the LifeFrame logo, the honey-wood rounded frame from our icon, stood up on two little legs. His white face works like a screen: it can smile, go blank, or show what he is imagining.
That is the whole design philosophy of Frame World: take the idea literally. A Frame is a possibility you can see. So we made one you can meet.
Why An Office Series
Because your week has an office in it.
Series One followed the cast through their private days. But for most of us, the biggest block of the week belongs to work, so the Framelings got jobs. The Work Week Series moves the whole question of Life Design into the bullpen: the meetings, the pings, the dashboards, and the quiet question underneath them all: who owns your week?
